Copper, scissors, and acrylic.

I incorporate many sharp objects in my work; scissors, broken glass, saw blades, etc. I use the objects sometimes to express pain and trauma, and other times to express beauty. This piece focuses on the beauty.

Night Sky is a peaceful seascape under a full moon. The moon was sculpted from scissors and then painted. The outline of scissors, circular saw blades, and other objects have been pounded into the copper. How each element appears to the viewer is left up their perception and imagination.

My artistic perspective and approach are influenced by my mental health challenges; I am bipolar with PTSD. Art helps me survive and heal.
