Dimensions: 19 x 23 Media: Archival Pigment Collage Artist Statement : A nightmare is visualized in this piece. When we dream, we piece together varied images. They are often influenced by thoughts we have before we finally fall asleep. Sometimes we remember and with nightmares we are awakened to those thoughts.
Dimensions: 12 x 24 x 1 Media: Oil on Canvas, Painted partially in Gettysburg Artist Statement : Honoring the dead at Gettysburg. November 12- Remberance Day
Dimensions: 12 x 12 x 0.2 Media: Oil on canvas panel Artist Statement : Rest in lavender is another look into rest and grief. A human unburdening themselves of sorrow, pain and unworthiness by entering the black abyss.
Dimensions: 16 x 20 x 1 Media: Oil on Canvas Artist Statement : I live up the road from the water. In all seasons I look, drawn to the light and energy of water, land and sky. Moved by my experience, the paintings are recollections of elemental things filtered through memory: the quality of light where rock meets shore; the changing sky, marsh and grass; some angle of land meeting water, altered only by the moving tides night and day.
One winter night as I looked out my window and saw the frozen landscape illuminated by the moon I knew I had to make a painting. Putting images together and taking them apart, I let the images become resolved with paint. Memory, time and space are part of my vision . In my studio the work becomes a dance between the specificity of the landscape and the language of paint.
Dimensions: 24 x 16 Media: Oil on canvas Artist Statement : My art is an expression of my creative impulse, a process of exploration and discovery that brings me into a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me. Through the act of arranging items and experimenting with brushstrokes and paint, I enter a state of flow where thoughts and emotions emerge and find their place in the visual language of my work.
For me, the act of creating art is a form of meditation, a way of engaging with the present moment and channeling my innermost thoughts and feelings. I am fascinated by the interplay of color, form, and composition, and how these elements can be used to create a sense of depth, movement, and balance. Whether through the use of symbolism, abstraction, or figurative representation, I hope to create art that invites viewers to engage with the mystery and beauty of the world around us.
Dimensions: 18 x 24 x 1.5 Media: Acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas Artist Statement : My paintings are in the Abstract Expressionist style. I paint with emphasis on color and mood. My works are non-representational, and the designs are not planned, so each piece evolves as color and shape and assumes its own character. The viewer is then free to experience the paintings intuitively without a prescribed subject or focus. My aim is to make forms and color evocative, experiential, and capable of eliciting emotion and mood.
Dimensions: 20 x 16 x 1 Media: Acrylic on Canvas Artist Statement : The canvas is an emotional board; palette knives and bold brush strokes unfold the story. This abstract offers darkness and a red hot fiery sky. Is the earth being burned? Is the sun setting into murky darkness? My abstract art offers the opportunity for others to create their own story and perhaps connect with their own emotions.
Dimensions: 22 x 24 x 1.5 Media: Oil on Linen Artist Statement : I had not painted for several days. I was feeling a need to splash paint on the canvas. There were no preconceived ideas when I started. Following my instincts, I liked the end result.
Dimensions: 12 x 17 x 1 Media: Acrylic Print
Artist Statement : The glow and buzz of neon...
The inviting aroma of leather...
The little bells on the door that tinkle when a customer enters...
I love character-rich neighborhood shops such as this one, along E 96th St on Manhattan's Upper East Side.
The guy even had a nice selection of umbrellas (of the type that don't go inverted at the slightest hint of a stiff breeze 😉 )
Dimensions: 4 x 6 x 1 Media: Oil on Panel Artist Statement : I wanted to convey the dynamic between familiar beauty and the unknown that exists beyond what the viewer can see. The sunset acts as a familiar subject that typically captivates anyone. However, the figure is looking away from it with her hand on her chest, as if what she was saw beyond the Sun's light was more captivating.
Dimensions: 7 x 5 Media: Watercolor on hot press paper Artist Statement : I create watercolors reflecting the easily-missed beauty and wonder around us, whether a fleeting moment in time or a hidden spot overlooked by hurried travelers. In this painting of the Annapolis City Dock, the view unexpectedly faces away from the water, capturing the vibrancy of life in the welcoming restaurants and cafés, the glow of the headlights, and the open-air market space.
Dimensions: 8 x 10 x 0.75 Media: Watercolor on gold metallic acrylic ground on wood panel in black wood floater frame. Artist Statement : The approach to Bellagio from the water of Lake Como creates a magical view of this Italian town.
Dimensions: 18 x 36 Media: acrylic on canvas Artist Statement : I loved the movement that the headlights created in the darkening sky, the streetlights casting strange colors and all illuminated by the red sunset--the interplay of natural and unnatural light.
Dimensions: 11 x 14 Media: mixed media Artist Statement : There is life at night in the sky and the surrounding landscape. It is a feast of unique images which change with the moon light.
