$1,200.00

Media: 1920 x 1080p HD video, stereo sound, 00:05:42. Looping.
Artist Statement : A meditation on gamification, surveillance of the nonhuman world, and all that digital media cannot hold, OBSERVATION DECK is a video art piece set after dark on the edge of a village flanked by wilderness. Motion sensing and infrared remote-operated cameras struggle to capture the nuances of this distant, wild ecosystem at night. Yawning darkness is interrupted by gamified POV shots, voyeuristic lenses, whirring servos, and low-resolution distortion and digital artifacting of light and life. Meanwhile, from the shadows, an unexpected subject looks back and begins to approach.

$1,000.00

Dimensions: 21 x 37 x 2
Media: Copper, scissors, and acrylic.
Artist Statement : I incorporate many sharp objects in my work; scissors, broken glass, saw blades, etc. I use the objects sometimes to express pain and trauma, and other times to express beauty. This piece focuses on the beauty. Night Sky is a peaceful seascape under a full moon. The moon was sculpted from scissors and then painted. The outline of scissors, circular saw blades, and other objects have been pounded into the copper. How each element appears to the viewer is left up their perception and imagination. My artistic perspective and approach are influenced by my mental health challenges; I am bipolar with PTSD. Art helps me survive and heal.
