$510.00

Dimensions: 30 x 40 x 1.5
Media: Sanded oil on natural linen, gallery wrapped.
Artist Statement : This piece was conceived as a response to the fishermen's saying "red sky at night, sailors' delight, red sky at morning, sailors take warning... " a prediction I grew up with in the Chesapeake Bay arera of Maryland. Shrimpers, crabbers, oystermen and others often put out before dawn, when the promise of the deep night sky moving toward dawn might still be in their favour. Late sun relinquishes to darkness, hints or reds emerge, blushing with other colours and a new moon, perhaps ambigupus, leaving the choice to depart as an inky sky lays over land and water in the balance.

Dimensions: 28 x 26 x 1
Media: Mixed: Pastels, Paint,, Crayon, Metallic glazes, Photography, other
Artist Statement : Art has always been part of me, from the first time I colored outside the lines and preferred my result to the neater versions of my classmates. I started to identify myself as an “artist” when others called me by that name. Soon I began to understand that this was something you could “be.” In the past decade I have become fascinated with the concept of inside-out, flipping some part of the perspective in each piece I create. I create a kind of enhanced reality using photographs that I have taken along with paint, metallic glazes, crayon, pastel and sometimes a variety of less conventional media to bring my inner vision forward in my artwork. You will see what I see. While I use my own photographic images, there is no use of digital art effects or scanning, no reproductions of finished pieces, no multiple editions. Each completed piece is unique and hand-made, a one of a kind finished multimedia artwork.

$200.00

Dimensions: 11 x 14 x 0.5
Media: Acrylic & Sharpie
Artist Statement : This one I was trying to use the haphazard application of the background to capture the VIOLENCE of the darkness. Whether it be darkness from one's own thoughts, or the circumstances one finds themselves in, or even lying in a bed feeling stranded without hope. The subject, thin and naked, vulnerable to darkness. Helpless and alone. Clutching at their mind, though it may not be the source of the darkness, but may be the source of that violence that lay within it.

$800.00

Dimensions: 40 x 30 x 1.5
Media: acrylic, paper, fabric
Artist Statement : This piece was inspired by the idea that in the winter, nature rests. It's a self-portrait of me resting, rooted to the earth. The last two years have been a time of healing and regeneration. Taking the time I have needed to rebuild after feeling burned out after a 25-year teaching career. I found I needed to reconnect with myself, with my roots, with the person I had suppressed to fit into a world where I could not be fully myself. I couldn't grow into the person I knew was inside waiting to come out until I took the time to recenter and emerge again.

The Vanishing
The Vanishing
Aleksandra Scepanovic

Dimensions: 22 x 12 x 10
Media: Sculpture
Artist Statement : Aleksandra Scepanovic questions our innermost by engaging the boundary between form and expectation. Her builds are strong physical preambles to wonder and potentiality, arrested in change. Enrolling the form into enduring transformation, Ms. Scepanovic’s forms give license to the mind to absorb context and effect. Her pursuits compare rational forms with intuition and provoke illuminating journeys to mystery. Aleksandra’s sculptural work underscores her experience of migratory displacement, her enduring quest for a true likeness of identity suspended in between war, peace, and culture. Aleksandra operates a productive collective of sculptors in Woodstock, NY, @atelierwdstk_hudsonvalley

$230.60

Dimensions: 16 x 24 x 1.5
Media: Digital image printed on metal
Artist Statement : I liked how the lamp lights and Domino Sugar factory sign shown brightly in the night, adding a glow to the clouds and some illumination to the streets. But, you can still see deep shadows along the row houses where the light can't reach. Also, I strove to frame the image so the step like nature of the row houses walked your eye down the street.

Artist Statement : As an artist dedicated to wellness and personal growth, I infuse each piece with my unique perspective, shaped by my own journey through mental illness recovery. The featured work captures twilight's serene and transformative qualities, reflecting the inner peace and strength I've discovered along the way. This piece blends various techniques and textures to evoke the tranquil yet dynamic transition of dusk, symbolizing the transformative power of mindfulness and reflection. The subtle interplay of light and shadow mirrors the complexities of healing, inviting viewers to engage in introspection and embrace the beauty found in life's quiet moments. Through this artwork, I desire to spark meaningful conversations about mental health and demonstrate that life holds the promise of renewal and fulfillment even after profound challenges. I hope to inspire a sense of calm and introspection, encouraging viewers to explore their own journey toward healing and growth.

$400.00

Dimensions: 14 x 22 x 1
Media: digital photo
Artist Statement : When I began my exploration of photography I was living on the North Fork and was surrounded by farms, vineyards and scenes of rural life. Not surprisingly, most of my photography dealt with landscape. We moved to Hampton Bays and the maritime environment engaged me and this is reflected in my photos. Subsequently, however, I have been drawn to the space between representation and abstraction and am more willing to take risks with my images. I feel very fortunate to have found this activity that so engages me in so many ways.

Artist Statement : This is a nocturne of a scene I’ve painted often enough, that I painted it from memory. I also wanted for this one to have an abstract vibe, loosely applying my dots with minimalist compositional structure. The result seems abstract to me, which brings me joy.

$4,100.00

Dimensions: 30 x 36 x 2
Media: Oil on Canvas
Artist Statement : Having recently moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland from New Mexico, I've found that many of the themes I carried with me still apply. Farms, fields, barns and fence lines are universal in rural America yet their surroundings vary wildly. I'm struck by the sheer saturation of water in my new environment and while I need not necessarily represent it literally in subject matter, I now strive to interpret this all-pervasive element in my landscapes. Thin, transparent washes have replaced hard, opaque line to illustrate a world diffuse in its humidity, lush with vegetation bleeding into every open corner. In The Tangle Of Midnight, a somewhat more romantic title than I'm accustomed, a lone, possibly abandoned farm sits in solitude as the surrounding fields creep closer under hazy moonlight.
